Eden leaped up the steps, skipping every other. "Here we are then." She motioned for Eddie to come to the door. The house was a tattered, wooden cabin, but kept tidy by Eden. Her mother lay in her room, filing through an old book. Eden didn't bother saying hello, as her and her mother weren't exactly so fond of each other.

Eddie walked in, and was instantly noticed by Eden's mother. "You..." she whispered. "What's your name?"

"Mother, this is Eddie." Eden turned to you and smiled, then sat next to her mother.

"Riggs? is your name eddie riggs?" The use of his last name surprised Eddie. he backed away. "yeah, was mom looking for me?"

"No...Your name was called for the Reaping, child."

Eden went still, shocked at the fact of what her mother had just announced. She exhaled heavily and stood, staring at her mother then facing you. Eden hadn't even known Eddie a day, but she honestly didn't want to lose him.

Eddie had some bad experiences before. He watched as an adult lost his arm to a falling tree. but this left him staggering. he stumbled to the ground, fear gripping him. "it's finally happening... i'm gonna die.."

Eden's insides shuddered. She kneeled next to him and looked him in the eyes. Her face was set with determination. "You will not die." Eden shook her head, setting her hand on his shoulder.

Eddie was dead to the world. He wasn't going to survive this, only one could. it wouldn't be him. he then felt a hand on his shoulder. he looked up into the eyes of Eden, who said, "you will not die."

eddie could kiss her right then, because then he felt bolder. "You know what, your right. If I die, i die, but not without trying.

Eden wanted to smile, but she knew it was the terrible time. "Somehow or someway, I'm not going to let you go." Her eyes closed then opened again, staring at the ground with frustration.

Eddie felt good about that when she said that. "Ok. If I have to, I'll try running off in the woods with you."

"You most certainly will not," cried Eden's mother.

Eden glared at her mother with a pure hatred. She faced him once again, winking then smiling in the slightest. She then crushed into him, wrapping her arms around Eddie. "Can we go somewhere else?" Eden didn't to deal with her mother's presence.

"The Town Square," The old woman suggested.

"Why not my place?

Eden nodded and stood, gripping his hand to help him up. She stepped into a side room and set down her bag that held her prized sketchbook. Digging in an internal pocket, she found her dagger. Eden slid it in her boot and walked back to him. "Let's go."

BIC- "Ok." Eddie got up, andwalked out with her.
